77 johnson 70 hp

I have a 1977 johnson 70 that I would like to put a used power trim assy on. Does anyone know what other models/hp assys will fit? thanks

I had the exact same model and hp for a couple of years.....Asked the same question and almost everytime I was told that the trim for those engines was pretty much crappy and I'd be better off just buying an aftermarket tilt & trim.....Of course I got rid of the boat and never tried one but I do know a couple of people that have the aftermarket system and they have no complaints. I was an OMC mechanic the 70 T&T was mediocre to say the least.

Thanks for the replys. I was able to find a used unit in Tn. thats like new. 175.00 for the complete motor. The only units that fit are from 73-77. Its a prestolite unit and all parts are available. Thanks again.
