I now have access to a highend o2 sensor and thought I would try it
on the 22c. The book says it can be anywhere along the exhaust route.

Can I just clamp it in one of the pipes or will the cooling water in the exhaust throw the reading off ?

The manual says nothing about marine use.

The water will damage the sensor.

You will need to install it somewhere in the exhaust that is separate from the water.

I made this spacer for mine.

Thanks. It's not mine so I would hate to reck it.

Even condensation can ruin the sensor, so it's best to mounted in the top or on the sides of the pipe, never on the bottom pointing up, as close to the collector as possible.

Yep, and even at that, they still have a finite amout of use in a marine situation.
