I've been remodeling our main bathroom since July '08. Since the builder (in 1957) poured concrete between the joists, I wanted to to take advantage of the situation and install a high quality floor tile with radiant electric heat.
Well, it's done. I installed a low voltage heat grid (with manual control) beneath 6" x 6" porcelain tiles. Damn, there's nuttin' better than stepping out of the shower and standing on warm, toasty tiles.
What's cool is to stand with one foot on the warmed tiles and one on the others. Wow, a major comfort difference.
I highly recommend it for those considering an upgrade. :cool!:
