87 Ford 351W
Engine has been stored for 14 months on "The Other, Other Boat" and I would like to prime the oil system before starting it.
If I remember correctly the Ford has a hex fitting for the distributor/oil pump connection. Can't remember if the pump side is male or female.
Any reason not to use a socket (or allen socket) to prime the engine?
Tape is so it does not fall into the oil pan?
Run the drill clockwise?
THANKS!!!!!!

It's male if I remember correctly (been a while for a Ford) and that's just how I used to do it. 1/4" drive socket, long extension and a drill.

When you pop the destributor just look at the bottem. That will tell you male or female. But I think it's A allen socket too!

Turn the key when you go to spin it, many times folks spin it the wrong direction having the key on lets you see the pressure rise.
