Steering question

I have the old style Teleflex Safe T helm. Would it be worth switching to a rack steering system?

If so, how hard would that be to install? Are there any major changes?

Personally, I'd keep the Safe T helm. It's compact, but you find them on inboard boats over 30' long. I think for cable steering, that they're hard to beat. If you're concerned from a safety standpoint, put a new cable in it.

Now, if you want to go internal hydraulic, Morse/Hynautic makes a nice conversion. I put one on my Minx and really liked it. The transom end is a little hard to find.
