I sent him an e-mail suggesting it wasn't an X-18. Nicely.

I like ads when people have figured out how to post big pictures on Craigslist. :)

Thank you. It would be awful for someone to buy that boat thinking they had one of 150. Hopefully it was an honest mistake.

How can you tell the difference?

I have personally viewed the boat last week, so now I am curious...She was repainted....you cant tell in the pics, but up close you can tell she was rolled with a new coat of yellow..

X-18 had a different deck. It is flatter and slopes up towards the cockpit.
It also has high back front seats, and the back seat is straight across, single piece rather that two pieces that meet in the middle which curve around at the edge.
The first boat was a 1976 X-18 I owned, and the second one was my 1979 Classic 18. The third one is a remarkably clean 1976 Classic, I don't know who owns it, but it shows the classic deck better.

Not to hijack the thread, but anybody know where I can get some docking lights in white like the ones on that gorgeous '76 18C?

If anyone know about those lights, don't tell him. He is wanting to put them on a triple hatch Barrel Back. Tom

I have e-mailed back and forth with the owner (Eric) a few times and he was happy to be corrected about this not being an X-18.

Seems like a decent guy.

He sent me an e-mail this afternoon saying he took a deposit to hold it through the week end, but didn't tell me who, obviously.

I thought maybe it was you.
