I hate to compete with the DACA (http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=56019) event but for those of you who might want to come to Powell later in the season or come back after DACA here is the info on this event.
This is a local event of various boat owners in the Southwest on the south end of Lake Powell. farmerTX, Doncig & I attended this event in 2007 and had a good time. It's a good group of people and a fairly well organized event with a Poker Run, Raffles and group meals including a big pig roast the day of the Poker Run and usually a shrimp boil. Several houseboats typically attend and they have had discounts available on houseboats in the past. Most people camp on the beach or in a houseboat but there are always a handful of people who run back to hotels in the evening. Here is one of the main 2009 Powellfest (http://www.performanceboats.com/html/forums/showthread.php?t=27413) posts. The official dates are August 13-16th. The weather is typically nice with air temperatures in the mid-90's, water is warm in the mid-70's, Monsoon storms are rare but can still be drifting around this time of year. I missed Powellfest in 2008 but would like to attend in 2009.

I think it would be fun to crash this party with a bunch of Donzi's. Most of them know about us from the DACA events and get a kick out of seeing our little boats running 70+ up front with the big boys in the Poker Run.
