Got my 6.2L back on Ebay and was asked this question-


got a 96 u17 with 4.3. what will be required to mate it to the volvo sx drive? I had a u17 with a 302 efi, it ran 65gps, so I know there should be room in the engine compartment for a v8..

Anyone know? BTW, I think this would be a great engine for a U-17. If he got 65 with a 302, should push him north of 70 with a 6.2L.

first would be a v 8 ration outdrive, not sure on the sx if it is like the old 200 aquamatics and the ratio was done in the lower , second would probably be a motor mount move. third would be an exhaust is the 4.3 thru hull and was the 6.2 thru hull??

John,it should drop rite in,may have to move the motor mounts forward(but may not have to) and a gear change in the lower unit..
