and it will probably sell to someone here, because of what it is...

As a retired for sale section moderator and broker, I would suggest a couple of changes to your ad starting with:

1) Posting some pictures of the boat interior, engine bay, exterior on the trialer, and a transom shot.

2) I would explain what engine re-build and drive re-build means in detail and why it was done.

3) I would describe the build sheet on this boat and what makes it special. I already know what it is, but many probably don't here.

4) I would give an asking price, not a range, and I would state what currency you are expecting.

If I had the spare jing, I would look hard it just to bring it here to torment Gero and Shea.

Good luck with the sale!

here are a few more pics to see. comes with this trailer and a few covers. boat is cleaned after every use and fresh water only (only in the great lakes). has all you need for an experienced driver to operate the boat safely at high speeds
I'm looking for $50k CAD...why i had a range earlier as the exchange rate fluctuates.

more details on engine and drive shortly.

This is a blackhawk hull :pimp:

I have personnally seen it run and it runs very strong

Jim, good luck on the boat, realistically if someone is going to buy the boat you should listen to Todd :bonk:and give a better explaination of exactly what the boat is, its story and of course go into a bit more detail as to the extensive work that has been done to the boat since you have had it.

meaning basically how the merc guys completely rebuilt the entire motor and supercharger and went over all the nuts and bolt etc to make sure it was perfect

should also note how the supercharger is set way below is true potential for reliability and you can still creep up on 90mph with the right driver :nilly:

I am trying to shamelessly push this boat because it is an awesome one off boat that someone on the board should have if its not Jim

THAT would be the understatment nomination for February...

I am still confused about why the details on this boat are such a big secret, but I already said my piece, so I'll just shut up.

Man, I would love to have it, but the red beast would just not accept such a sibling in the store-in-lock...

Gero, you can rest easy for now... unless of course someone else brings it to AOTH to torment your ***.

the details on the boat are no secret...just waiting for teds reply...i want to get them right and he just finished upgrading the drive. Merc had a stronger shaft available and with new bearings going in etc...we did it all. Shea, thanks for the comments, the boat is lots of fun. not sure people are ready to commit to a new toy like this until the market settles down...looking forward to a ride in your water this summer.

just heard back from Ted:

engine is #844575 R 7 Long Block 502 with a compression ratio of 7.5:1
BH drive has new seals and bearings and upper drive shaft and new upper gears 1.5:1
Procharger has been serviced and is in excellent condition (the stickers have been removed)
for more on the story of the boat, check the Registry Archives as there is info there that were not my entries.

the boat is currently under the care of Ted at Speedmaster Marine Ltd north of Toronto. If you are seriously interested in the boat, i will arrange that Ted is available to discuss technical stuff.

Gero, yes this boat has DT written all over it.
But, my horoscope says that I will not have this boat in my posession untill 2010; and the exchange rate in Canada needs to fall to .50/1.0 to the US dollar.
So again I must be patient and wait for the moons to align.

I am about to ask a stupid question......
1) what is a rocker hull?
2) what years was it made?

I have seen 16' & 18' Donzi's run in front of the house and they seem to not have their trim right.. Bouncing... Is that what a rocker hull is? I always want to run out there and tell them to trim the drive correctly.

Anyway, thank you.

jimkmij
04-08-2009, 09:11 PM
rocker hulls have nothing to do with a boat bouncing around with the trim set too high...has to do with a shorter transom...raises the drive in the water...less drag...faster.

been to kentucky and back

on my way to just north of albany next week

there was some talk within an unnamed circle in kentucky about your boat
lots of people want it but no one has stepped up to the plate

if you get some time come on down to trenton again we can go for a rip or bring the wife and we can go out on the cruiser

either way is good but if you end up keeping the boat, get in touch with me and we can maybe do that dalhousie run over the summer

have a good one

Jim - if you had a buck for every tire-kicking wise cracking "buyer" recommending this and doing that and requesting pictures of this and that - you would have sold it twice over. Don't waste any time with these "experts". It is a gorgeous boat and a serious buyer will emerge, just give it time. The economy is really bad and there are very few that have large disposable incomes right now. Good luck, keep a lo-pro, expect nothing, be patient, and one day, like Candid Camera "when you least expect it..."

ebay has still not gotten back to me from 2 days ago - a little disappointed.

BUIZILLA
08-16-2010, 03:46 PM
Ebay is also VERY clear.. if there is no reserve in the listing dollars, and that if there is a no reserve where it shows the reserve is met, or not, then whomever is high bidder at the end owns it... you would be smart to end it, and re-list with a reserve statement clearly shown.. not trying to argue but those are the legal facts.. one of my son-in-laws and my second daughter currently has over 500 items listed at this time, and know the system in's and out's..

HOWARD O
