Donzi Medallion 182 1995 is my (first) boat. I don't know ANYTHING about boats except that I love my Donzi. Several days ago I was running engine (with water hose attached to out-drive) and I noticed that one side of the engine is much cooler (on touch) than the other. Should I be worry or that is normal thing?

What part of the engine?

Raiser, I believe that how it calls (top of the engine by carb. on each side..),
Thanks

Yes, risers. Technically not part of the engine, but rather the exhaust system. I guess it depends on how much of a temp difference there is. The cooler side has more water flowing through the risers, the hotter side has less. I think after a while cast iron manifolds/risers can start to break down and block the water passages. But I could be wrong. Hopefully some of the more experienced members can help you

The exhaust is the #1 reason for engine failure. Take the risers off the manifold and look at the passages. If it is like the V8 there are 4 of them that surround the manifold and go up to the riser. If they are rusty and starting to get blocked up, or totally blocked, you need to change them out. It is 100% worth the time to check them so you don't ruin the engine.

When I pulled mine a few weeks ago 2 out of the 4 passages on each side were totally blocked and the engine showed no signs of issues.
