This guy has a smokin' deal: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/new-products-member-discounts/191312-ke-competition-shifter-blowout.html

and also this one: http://www.247liquidators.com/boat/parts4sale.html

I have a red Gaffrig in mine. It is a nice unit as well. Keep in mind that when you upgrade the throttle/shifter you'll have to get new cables plus a conversion for the cables for the factory hookups to the carb / shift unit on the transom. you'll also have to make the factory hole bigger assuming you had the standard controls before and not the upgraded set from the factory.

thanks ill check that out.. yours is looking good. Yea I figured id have to cut a bigger hole so when I split the boat to reglass the stringers we pluged the throttle hole and some of the dash. Just had the boat painted so ill get some updated picks up soon. You going to be at the dust off this year?

If you are talking about the dustoff in lake george I can't make that. I'm trying my best for AOTH though.

here's a link to my album here: http://www.donzi.net/forums/album.php?albumid=49

and the thread from when I got the boat back: http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=55468

in the thread you can see it with the windshield back on and tinted... if you have the Italian shield I personally think it looks better dark than that light purple gray color it was from the factory. simple to do with static cling tint.

It's looking good. Are you re-doing the stock look or are you changing anything?

Besides the two stripes instead of one I deleted the stripe by the engine vents. I really like it better without them.

Thanks, I am going with the org. paint look the bottoms gel coated.. The only thing we changed about the org. paint was we got rid of the small blue stripe along each side of the red racing stripe

You also eliminated the shoe strip down the side too didnt you?

The top will be done by sunday night..

Yes, I deleted the boot/shoe stripe. Since I decided to go more for the Shelby look I left it off. I think that the boat looks good with or without it. A bit cleaner without, classier with.

I'm really happy with it overall. Another nice little touch is having the stripe(s) sprayed up to the dash seam. You can just see it on the inside behind the windshield and for some reason it completes the look.

yea your paint job looks sharp I like the ideas. I decided to keep the paint as stock as possible but I am 100% updating the dash and all with dana marine parts. Cant wait to finish it all up should be done late may. Lets hope atleast haha.

I hear you on that, It was a tough decision to make for me to go stock or update everything. Time wise I started mine a year ago and I'm not floating yet.

My progress is: I'm sending the new exhaust out this weekend or monday to get custom welded. I have the new dash made so I should be able to drop that in this weekend at least. I totally re-did the interior and have to install that. New outdrive has to be finished and installed (semi-new drive with a nose cone so I have to paint it and do the impeller). New Barry Grant carb, new fuel lines, new oil filter mount and cooler, etc.

When I'm done 90% of the boat will be new. I can't wait to get wet again and see some other Minxes on the water... or is it Minxi or just Minx?

But we are working together to finish it why he looks for his own project :)

Did you put any pop-up cleats or anything in yours? I have realized I am going to need to put atleast 4 in... which I kinda did not want to because of the org. factor..

Yes, I have 3. One forward centerline, between the lifting ring and the nav light.

the other two are in the back, centered on the engine hatch vents.

If I did it over again I would do 4. the two in the rear are located perfect centered on the engine hatch vents, but instead of a forward single cleat I'd do one on either side just in front of the windshield area so you can reach them from inside the boat. That would also make the 4 cleats work for an anchor shade.

That's pretty much what I did on my 22 - works great and is much easier/faster than crawling out on the bow when you're coming up to a dock.
