How about a 94 degree swing in temperature.:eek:

Right now it is 72 F in my house, and -22 F outside on the window ledge.

Oh and just so we are clear, if any of the Global Warming/Global Climate change debate makes it's way from that other thread to this one, I will personally whack the poster with a frozen set of Turkey Skin Luggage.... Think of it as an Ice Tea Bag ... :boggled:

Flame away, have fun, but do not drag this light hearted thread down .... :D

I state that I could give a ******* about the weather in Florida?

Having lived in Texas for sixteen years and lived the dream, does anyone find it interesting that you never hear the deep south dwellers gloat about the weather in July and August? Can we say, trade-off, yes trade-off???? Relo in process to Kentucky, but that is far south as I am going to go again, because it turns into mostly AC in the summer time below those parts....

Now, I got to go fire up the JD and plow the driveway again... so hold that thought.

Grumpy...

Nanook...

Yeah, I'll hold that thought while you fire up the JD, and I hope it's in a heated garage so it's easier to fire up.
While your at it, check the AC so it'll be ready to go in a few months.
I've used my heat a total of six hours so far since late November.

Yes it is, but one of the good things about a cold snap is that the crime rate drops way down. :D :D

My lips are frozen and ten hungry deer tried to eat the back tires off of the JD while it was moving.

I love this place. Well, at least the cocktails never get warm...

Even more grumpy...

Nanook...

Our local TV Weather Guru stated that a "Cold Snap" is only about 2 days in duration...a "Cold Spell" will be anything longer than a "Cold Snap".

So...are we having a "Cold Snap" or a "Cold Spell"?

I guess the beer needs to be insulated to keep from freezing?

We think vodka in the Artic, I mean Michigan. And Bourbon in Kentucky.

Here is our paradise... Yes there is a house in there and yes I did just finish plowing the driveway...

Nice yards George.
I'd take a picture of mine, but it's pitch black outside right now.
Ottawa and Florida are pretty close longitude wise, what time does it get completely dark there now? In the summer months we have pretty much identical sunset/sunrise times.

Yeah, that's the advantage with the sunline being over the Tropic of Capricorn, anyway we're closer to it and the days are a little longer.
Sunset is at about 6:00 and it'll be dark @ 6:30.

Gulf Breeze is CST, I thought all of Florida was EST, same as here.

Ahhh I see now. Gulf Breeze is way further West than I thought it was...

Yep, Gulf Breeze is in the panhandle, a peninsula between Pensacola, and Santa Rosa Island (Pensacola Beach). Northwest Florida is Central time zone west of Tallahassee. http://www.cityofgulfbreeze.com/index.html

Our area of Florida is different than the rest of Florida as we are so close to Alabama and Mississippi. New Orleans is only 3 hours away. We get colder here than Central and South Florida. As it is 28* with a wind chill of 20* this morning. Where is my long underwear?

Notice how the nice warm yellow colors form a smilly face :) Clearly, any self-respecting boater would want to live in one of the yellow places. What the heck are all you blue and purple people thinking?

Hey, could be worse. When I lived in Indiana each county got to decide if they wanted to observe daylight savings time. I working in one county and lived in another - half the year I'd get home from work before I left.... Came in handy for going to the bank or other errands.
