I purchased a gauge package with oil temp gauge but no sender. Does anyone know what size sender 1/8" or 3/8" I need for a chevy big block? Also, where do you install the sender? Where the oil pan plug is?

Also, does anyone have experience with adding monster gauges to the 22 classic factory size dash cutout? Can I get tach, speedo 4 5/8" and 4 3/4" cutouts with six 2 5/8" cutouts onto the standard dash cutout or do I have to enlarge or add gauges above the dash?

On my stock Merc setup it is in the oil filter mount, some prefer the pan as they feel they get a better reading. Just how much who knows, I do not feel it can be more then maybe 10 degrees if that. IMO the oil moves along pretty quick through rubber hoses so I doubt much lose.

Gen V (probably Mark 6 also) have a bung on the port side of the oil pan.
Not sure what size BUT if you get 1/8" you can upsize with an adapter.

thanks to both of you. would it be cheaper to buy the sender from somewhere other than livorsi?

The sender needs to match the Ohm's of the gauges, see if you can get the specs most are pretty standard except for dual stations.
