not sure if its true....but I have seen some of those norwegian cliffs and they are straight up and down into the fjords. Its basically the only geography in the world that lets us biuild large drilling platforms close to shore since the fjords are so deep and basically straight down.....realy amazing.

Pretty sure it's true. I've saw that video just this week, and I've seen videos before of guys 'flying' past that stretch of road.

I think 'flying' is a bit of a stretch. More like 'directional falling'. Some of longer-distance shots really show how fast they're loosing altitude relative to cliffs.

At the beginning, where they're skiing off the cliffs, I have to wonder how many of the skies there were able to recover of if they just wrote them off.

Hat's off to 'em - that's pretty crazy stuff. The most I've ever done was some bungee jumping, and that was one of those things I really had to work myself up to jumping off of but once I'd done it I couldn't wait to get back up and do it again.

They had a special on Mechanical Marvels about interesting inventions made to enhance human abilities. One of them were those spring loaded, curved stilts, and another was these flying suits.

With the suits they have been able to achieve a 3:1 drop ratio, so like Z said, it is more like controlled falling. As you would expect there are different types of suits; acrobatic, maximum range, etc. The show said they travel at around 200 mph, and the preference is to fly closely to the edge of the cliff, until you need to deploy the chute.

What will they think of next?
