I got a call from an HRPA member this eve about this 28. Anyone know anything about it. Granted it is an old 502 and drive, and he knows what he is getting into, looking for some "inside data."
I am not real close to the member but sure he can see it sat in the water allot of it's life, any data is appreciated.

See Ebay Link below.

Thanks

I have been boating up at the 1000 Islands for 12 or so years and I have never seen this boat.
Perhaps Boxy or Bootdaddy would have some info for you.

Thanks, standing by for any helpful data, that 502 looks a bit rough, but I know the interested party and for the right price he will restore the boat nicely.

I have never seen it and was unable to tell what Marina is brokering it.

Seller sounds desperate...buyer's market - go low.

Bought right, some new paint and interior goodies. A little engine workover and a new drive...this would make a great project at the right price. I was looking for something like this when I did the 26. I love my 26 but miss the extra room of the 27

I have to agree, I think it can be bought right.

I would like to see more about your 26ZX Hedge, send me a link. I loved my 26ZX, I only had 5 years of boating under my belt in those days and thought the boat was invincible, cost me thousands in the long run.

The phone number is correct for the Alexandria Bay area, but I have never run across this boat on the River .....

Brian those pictures are at least 3 months old, and depending on where he is storing it, it may be difficult to get a better look at it.

Here are a few. Shoot me a pm with your info if you like and I can send all sorts of pics or discuss. Before and after type stuff.

Last Real Texan has done a 27ZX twin step. It runs in the low 90's. He did his in stages so he call articulate what to expect along the way.

Tex and I have compared running surfaces. They are basically the same except he has a lower lifting strake on the last step. The handling characteristics are similar.

Somewhere around 700hp really wakes up 27ZX hull. It has a transitional period just nort of 75 mph where you get some chine walk as it climbs on pad. It settles down right around 80. 700hp seems to be a nice number to push it through the transitional phase quickly.

I am surprised that more don't do these as project boats. They are built, roomy and love power.

In the pictue the boat looks like its parked in the Bonnie Castle Sales parking lot and the salesmans name is Richard Drake. Unfortunately I've never seen the boat before so I'm no help there.

If you look at www.boattraderonline.com it is listed there for $34,900. Correct, it is located at Bonnie Castle Yacht Basin. No, I do not know anything about this boat other than I was fooling around on that site and found the boat. Good luck helpin' your buddy.

As a former Hoosier myself, I can only say Get Out! Get out while you still can!

OK, it's not all that bad. You could be in Kentucky.
