Yeaah......
Boxing Day!

I remember reading about that in school.........

What the heck is it?

It's OK, I bet our Canadian friends don't know what Juneteenth is either.

And any folks over in the UK. I had to throw that in, as I'm sitting at my sister's house, and my bro in law is from England.

Thanks :D

I "think" Boxing Day is the day when you were supposed to clean up all the mess you made on Christmas Day :) Still a STAT tho :)

About to leave for LA as we speak to continue on in the festivities till Jan 4th. :D

71.6 degrees F for the week will be a nice change.

HIstorical signifigance aside, Boxing Day is the greatest day of the year for a true hockey fan.
The World Junior Hockey Championships start every Boxing Day and run till the Gold Medal Game on January 5th.

This year is extra special for 2 reasons....

1) It is being held in Ottawa (I'll be at the arena to catch the end of the USA/Germany game on the tailgate bigscreen, then inside for the Canada/Czech game)

and
2) Canada plays the USA on News Year Eve....

Forget the overpaid, uninterested head cases in the NHL (ie Sean Avery), this is hockey played by kids for nothing more than love of competition, and love of their Country.
