What does it take to use a 525 efi plenum with a non-525 efi electronics?

LRT aren't you using aftermarket electronics on yours with the procharger?

I was looking at that one on ebay as well. Don't think its so simple, but will be listening to responses.

Great way to do it....Complete system. To do it any other way just does not make sense....

No I am using Mefi 3 ...works well with my application. If I were to start from scratch I would do a mefi 4 B

I may be wrong but I don't think that the 525 used a MEFI computer. I was told the computer the 525 uses is not as easy to tune.

Doing stuff that makes sense isn't much fun.

An intake is an an intake. The electonics from one system should work as long as they can be hooked up. I am guessing with some programming. Was my thoughts.

If I am correct Bill said my motor is Mefi 3 currently.

Trueser they look nice but $2500 for an intake is a bit out of my league.
I'm a nickle and dime kind of guy. Toss in some back yard wrenching and some good friends and you get the idea.

Its a 3. Yes, an intake is an intake. There may be some differences in the wiring harness though. Mark Boos should know or I can ask Eddie if you want.

That price included the wiring harness and all needed for the 525. The computer alone is worth $$$.
This included all parts needed.

What I have found in the past is that as long as the sensors can be mounted and get an accurate reading the electronic brains shouldn't know the differance.

Maybe the 500 efi is a better intake to consider. Looks similar. I am sure they are differances.

I think that you are basically right. I don't care what the 525 computer might be worth, if you can't reprogram it you can't use it unless you have a 525. If you can pin the MEFI 3 the same (and I am not sure it that different) it will be the way to go.

I agree!! This guy has some great deals. I got my intake and computer and wiring harness from him and it was like new for like 1500.

Did some more checking on this and it looks like on paper the 500efi manifold is a direct swap.

EFI wiring looks similar.

Motor is turning a little blue it appears.

Struck a deal to bolt one of these on.

Should match up nicely with the 525efi cam I got last week.

They were. I ended up blowing them out for 1,500. I will keep an eye out. Deals are to be had.

Eddie has some old CMI's laying around. I don't know if he is putting them on one of his budget packages (if that exists) but I will ask. Everything is for sale.
