What do you guys use for grease? I know Mercruiser/Quicksilver makes a couple different kinds of grease. But I would think that a high quality grease would be able to cover almost all applications. Is there something better to use than what Merc makes? I'm looking to grease steering components, drive shaft, and trailer bearings.

I use Quicksilver "2-4-C" on the prop shaft..just before installing the prop.

Also (2-4-C) for the universal joint spline and "O"rings on the out drive spline shaft, ...as well as the shift linkage where it connects to the OD. If you Don't remove the OD....you will not have access to these points.

I do this every season because I HAVE to remove the OD to get the boat in the garage. If I left the OD on the boat I would probably let this go for maybe three seasons..then remove the drive and grease. John
