I have always owned larger sportfishing boats and now looking for my first donzi. I would like to get a 16 to use on days i can't motivate the crew. There are several older donzi in the area and i was wondering what to look for in a older boat. Every boat seams to have one or two things that plague older boats. My biggest fear is dry rot in the stringers.

Thanks

You have part of it! Stringers, transom and the biggy the aluminum fuel tanks are iffy in older ones. Later 90 and up have poly tanks so no issue, you still need to check the wood parts. It pays to have a trained eye look over the one or ones you get interested in, with luck you may have a member close by to take a look also.

Did the Z-25's have an alum. tank or stainless? Do they rot or not? I have always wanted another one of these boats,,,mint and yellow.
