I just want to bang my head against the wall! I put 395 gallons in the CARVER this summer during our vacation, at an average of $4.59/gallon. Had I done that today I would have had and extra $1,106 in my wallet.

Last night in Grand Rapids. I have already seen it down to $1.76 today.

About $1.80 here.
Today I was thinking back to the '90's when Indonesia crashed....oil got down to $9.00/barrel and $0.76/gallon. That happened to be the lowest that oil and gasoline has ever been.....EVER (adjusted for inflation).
Just to put into perspective, that's $12.44 and $1.05 in 2007 dollars.
So, we're doin' pretty good.
It'll get lower, I'm just wonderin' how long it'll stay there, and hoping that research doesn't stop in the mean time.

Gas is 1.69 here today. It's falling about 3 cents a day here.

Ok there are some here with alot more knowledge than me, Why is Diesel still higher than gas. It uses to be alot cheaper, I have a hard time believing that it is totally demand that is driving the cost higher

Does it have to do with the ultra-low sulfer diesel costing more to make?

It was explained to me that we are now in a world market on fuel prices and that the European countries have about 60% cars running on diesel - thus the price - supply and demand. Bill

Ok Bill, thanks

It just seems weird that with in 8 years that the price of Diesel would soar that much ahead of gasoline...

I guess I'm just shocked that in 2000 I was paying about 90 a gallon for Diesel (gas was 1.60 range then I believe)

Today gas is 1.60 and Diesel is 2.60.

I guess I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I asked the same question to a man in the industry not long ago is the only reason I had a clue. Since diesel takes less refining, it would be logical that it would be less. By the way, I filled up at $1.64 for regular unleaded today here in north Texas.
