I'm sick of politics and the pain will start soon enough. But this past weekend life was all good!
Well it started off innocent enough with a simple phone call.
“How would you like to go to Atlantic City to see Alice Cooper?” said Randy.
I was like, “sounds like it could be a cool time.”
Then Randy said, “we have 2 back stage passes also.”
I was like, “FU** YA! Were going if I have to crawl there.”
So on Saturday morning I roll down to Delaware to snag a couple freebees from “the yard” for the Monza project. A couple trailer tires, mounted. To get cam bearings installed in the 360ci and a trailer winch. After we finish up it was time to hit the road.
We drive up to Lewis, Delaware to catch the Lewis/Cape May Ferry. For a change instead of the truck taking the boat to and from water this time it was a boat taking the truck from and to land. A little different. It probably would have taken just as long to drive around the Delaware Bay but what the hell. It was really nice out on Saturday and the Delaware Bay was like glass all the way across.

We get to the House of Blues in Atlantic City about an hour before the show and head to the W/C office to pick up the tickets. They hand us an envelope and as we are walking up to the concert hall I open the envelope and find two VIP passes but no tickets to the show. This isn’t right. Back to the W/C office we go.
“That’s all they left for you.” I then said we can’t get in the show with just these. The lady behind the counter agreed and went looking for some paper work. She comes back and says the tickets are at the radio station. We then explain the radio station is about 150 miles away, what can we do? She says that she will contact the stage manager to see if he has any ideas. I the mean time Randy and I are talking a few feet away, in front of the ticket window and we come to the conclusion that we just have to buy tickets to the show. We’ve come this far. As we walk back up to the window with our credit cards in hand the lady replies, “just hold on guys. Cesar (the stage manager) is working on it” as he waves from the back of the office. O.K……… Cesar then comes over to the window and says, “wait here, they will have then for you in a minute.” We were like handshakes and thanks all around. As soon as we got them we were rushed upstairs, through the VIP line and into the show before all the general admission folks were let in.
After about a hour of sitting and getting drinks served to us (a first at a concert for me) the opening band ( ZO2 ) comes out and for a band I’ve never herd of before they rocked! Their front guy was awesome to say the least. Even if the band doesn’t make it this guy will be going places with someone.
After their set the curtain comes down and now we are set. Cold drinks in hand, the lights go down and here comes Alice.
Before his set was over (about 2 hours) the band had played, "No More Mr. Nice Guy," "I’m 18," "Be My Lover," "Dead Babies," "Is It My Body?," "Woman of Massive Distraction," "Cold Ethyl," "Steven," "Department of Youth," "Desperado," "Muscle of Love," "Lost in America," "Welcome to My Nightmare," "I Love the Dead," "Only Women Bleed," "Feed My Frankenstein," "Ballad of Dwight Fry," "Under My Wheels, Killer," "School’s Out," "Elected," "Dirty Diamonds" and "Billion Dollar Babies."
Pretty much from their start all the way until today and it was all great. They can put on a show that you don’t even want to get up for a drink or pee. Lucky enough they brought the drinks to us and the bathroom was only 20 feet away with no wait all night.
After the show ( if that wasn’t enough with the great seats we got) it was time to go meet the man. So after a bit of a wait we are ushered into the back.
What a great guy. The last stop on the US tour you know he had to be spent but he was the nicest guy you could ever meet. We talked and the normal worshiping the rock star thing but that soon went away as you felt like you were sitting around with an old friend. We got autographs and took pictures. Even when my camera f-ed up he looks at Randy and says, “don’t worry about it, I cant never get those things to work either.” And then turns back to me and starts BS’in again. We get the picture and say our good by’s and off we go. We then head outside to catch a smoke and before we start heading back we have to get something to eat. We walk back across the casino and end up in the House of Blues restaurant. We place our order and are sitting there and who walks in? ZO2, the opening act. As they walk by I give them a “great set” they stop for a second and shook hands and said thanks. Well after a few minutes the lead singer come over and asks if we know where’s the bathroom at and how do we like the ribs (what I ordered). I was like here try them. Before we knew it he was sitting at our table for about a ½ hour just shooting the crap.
What a night!

Way cool...I've always liked Alice Cooper...I am jealous! :cool!:
He's got a great syndicated radio show called "Nights with Alice Cooper".
