Sounds like if they had stayed put, they would have been ok. They freaked becuase of immigration. Still, 24 found alive so far. That is good news.

it wasn't in the Keys

it was right off Fisher Island and South Beach, adjacent to Virginia Key island...

you would have thought they would have found 16 bodies by now, but it was a tad windy and bumpy yesterday, the onshore breeze should have drove them unto the beach..... if they are floaters, they should surface today or tomorrow, so I kinda doubt the 40 count at this point, beides the largest shark concentration is close to that area... the overhead 'copters would have seen underwater bodies because it is pretty shallow, you can make out the 4-8' sharks from the air, so seeing a floater would be reasonably easy to do...

this just goes to re-inforce how ridiculously poor the Homeland Security patrols our coastline... this derelict vessel got within 200 yards of Govt Cut and no one saw a thing, it got within 1/2 mile of the largest USCG base south of Norfolk... it's not like that rusty wreck is a 60 knot vessel... nobody saw a thing until it ran aground... not a thing... kinda like the 19 refugee's that landed at Turkey Point Power Plant... that in itself is pretty pathetic

seems to me if you can see 4-8 foot sharks in the water from the air that looking for floaters is a mute point
