I'm getting ready to do a custom dash for my 22 and went looking for some pics of what others have done before for ideas.

Unfortunatly, most of the old photos seem to have slipped through the cracks in the server migration.

Anybody have some pics of their custom dashes they'd like to post?

(KY-Donzi, I'm talkin' to you man!)

KY's dash is drop dead gorgeous, I bet he could for a price, do it for you.

I already talked to him on that topic...I pretty much figured I wanted to base mine on his idea from the first time I saw it.

And if I still lived in Indiana it would be easy to just show up on his doorstep with a cardboard template, a case of frosty beverages, and a few bucks. But it's a little harder now that I'm out here in the wild, wild west.

I'm sure I can find somebody to build it out here - right now I'm just looking for ideas on the basic layout. I've got some ideas, but before I start cutting anything I'd like to some other examples. There are a lot of creative people on this board and I'm sure some of them have ideas I haven't thought of.

Are you reusing your gauges or going new?

I'm planning to re-use my gauges. They all work fine and I'm OK with the white faces. No need to spend the extra money on new. I may get some new angled chrome bezels, although my stock flat ones are in decent enough shape as well.

Now...off to search for a freeware cad download!

Here's my custom design for my '87 22C. Made by Nosinger to my specs. It took them 2 attempts to get it right and even the one I accepted wasn't perfect. Make sure you are explicit on what you want, I sent them CAD drawings and they still messed it up.

Carbon fiber cuts "like butta" with a water jet and holds tolerences down to something like .002. Used one to cut my c.f. switch panel and the swithes snap right in.

#8 X 1" stainless truss head screws with nylon washers.
On my switch plate I have 4, one in each corner and for the gauge panel I will use the same number as the factory used, 8 maybe same factory location.

Here was my thread on my dash- http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=49056&highlight=nisonger
looks like the photos are gone. I'll attach to this one.

First pic is the cheesy "custom" dash the boat came with.

Zimm - I'm diggin' the cool toggle switches. Where'd you find them?

Livorsi. Big bucks, but very high quality. Military aircraft switches- about $50 each retail, try to find a hookup.

Ahhhh...I just dug through Nisager's website and found the switches.

I was planning to just use a blank sheet of engine-turned s/s (I've found a supplier) and have it cut to my specs then use rocker swithes with lables on the switch to avoid having to screen-print the dash, but I might have to change that as those switches look pretty cool.

Zimm, roughly what kind of $$$ are we talking about for your entire setup?
If hesitant to post, could you PM me? It sure does look excellent!

Thanks for the note on McMaster. But I'd better not look them up while I'm at work - If I start looking through their catalog I'll be done for the rest of the day. There's all sorts of crazy stuff in there!

The whole dash was $2000 :embarasse

$450 for the panel
$350 in switches
The rest in Livorsi gauges, trim rings, circuit breakers, ignition, 12v outlet. Just the GPS speedo was $600.
