Has anyone used anything "other than" SPECIFICALLY "engine paint (cans) to paint an engine?
I was getting ready to do one and was all excited because I found a rather difficult to find color in some inexpensive Walmart bought Krylon and then I remembered (when I saw some) that there is spray paint specifically for engines that, I suppose is formulated especially for withstanding the heat.
Anyone ever get away with "non engine" type spray cans?
I'm thinking of taking these cans back and going hunting again for the right color AND the right stuff.
The engine is a mid 60's Interceptor 312 Ford and is a kind of greenish blue. Pretty close to what the non engine Krylon paint calls Bahama Sea.
This color would be close enough for me, but I don't want to paint it and then have it melt or discolor or whatever?
