I need a new steering cable for my Ski Sporter (1977, left hand helm, Volvo 270). The current cable is cracked and too long, causing it to make a small radius turn up against the transom. I suspect these two factors are contributing to the hard steering. Can anybody point (steer ) me in the right direction?
Most any marine supply house stock cables, like you said shorten it up a bit which means 1 foot shorted as the come in 1 foot graduations.

Thanks, guys. I'll measure it and let you know. It'll probably take me a couple days to get an opportunity to do so.

Karma, and 50 bucks, gets you new, something used can't offer :biggrin.::biggrin.::bighug:
I hope that the tank for the X-18 that you got me is done with the bad Karma! I would not want the X to suffer the same fate:hangum:
BTW, the tank was perfect. Thanks
