I'm not sure, but I think those holes are in a low pressure area.:nilly::nilly:

I think Ted is kidding again.

Actually they are NOT holes. They are round Donzi logo's.
I wanted the engine to get as little air as possible.
It IS a 22 not an 18.

a very nice example of a real early 22 classic this boat was out in the midwest a few years back I think, wonder if they knew the 496 was taller than a 454 or 502 ??? possibly a glimpse of why they moved the stringers on the 496 boats hmmmmm

Tx Taz, where are you?
I think Ted found you another boat!

You know it has crossed my mind to have Ted and Mark help with a new boat buildup. Imagine how sweet it would come out.

Da Taz<---Will work for a 22c.

The exhausts are Harding Marine I have a set That is looking for a new home. The engine is a 454 bored to 496, a common power option. BTW the exhaust work very well.

This boat was listed for sale on the Donzi Net back in '01 or '02. I was somewhat interested at the time I either talked to the guy or swapped e-mails. Seems back then it had a bored 454 - bored to 472???

I've never seen a 496 HO with a carb

Here are the pictures I got from the owner back then

Tedd that is nice, really nice. I'm thinking low to mid 90's so I don't kill myself or anyone else. Once I find the hull I want, I will be patient and build it to what I want. It would be nice to have a Mr.X sticker next to Taz. The new boat name will be "Taz's Devil". AND I want a smooth hatch with a Taz on the inside so everyone can see when the hatch is opened.

Tedd, maybe you can come up with something like "X Works" with some graphics to add to the project. To be honest, you added $3K to the 18c just becuase you built it. AND I would reallly like you to be a part of the new one. I expect to be able to get a hull in the next few months.

Da Taz<---My next boat WILL be the best I can imagine with help from others.

Also, I don't think it is a 496. When I communicated with the former owner he indicated it was a 472 (bored 454)

Beautiful boat Ted !!! guys commenting on the 496 , don't think it is the newer one we automatically think of . A 454 block bored and stroked , really popular with the hot rod guys as the bore is almost the same as the stroke and it builds great torque ...
