Just had a Bravo 3/ 6.2 MPI (2002) in for service to try to find a outdrive oil leak. Service manager told me they ran the boat in a test tank for over an hour. When I got the boat home I noticed that the engine hour meter had not budged. His response to my email concerning no hours on the hour meter while in the test tank is:
"We did have the motor hooked up to our CDS which will bypass the ECM and
not show hours ran as it is hooked up. I will do some more research on
this as the tech is off today that worked on the vessel but I would be
under the assumption that is the case but I am not a tech."
Anyone know if the CDS will bypass the hour meter? Boat has a seperate hour meter in the dash and no other digital displays (not the newer multi-function display system).
