I have watched this same boat bounce around for a couple of years now.

Had a small block in it a few years ago.

looked at this boat some time ago in new york, basically unchanged since then
if in fact it has no HIN stamped on the back then it is an early 72 thru some research we have found that 3 where made in 72 and most likely all before the USCG mandatory date for HIN being stamped on the hull of NOV 72 for the upcoming 73 model year Taking measurements on the seats pedestal positions can also tell you what year it is. We have concluded thru engine castings and personal accounts that Kenny 19 is hull number 1 and this boat looks very similar not surprised if it turned out to be a single digit hull number
I thought about it but can't have a black and yellow one sit next to a yellow and black one if that boat was done up like CDMA's 18 all yellow black interior it would look awesome but not to practical

I've been tempted a couple times too on this boat. The first guy that bought it really got a good deal. on the second sale the price went up significantly.

I never bought because I felt it needed a running gear change, I priced out a Merc SBC + Bravo package and was in the $12-14k range not including labor so I figured in the end I would have $30k or so into the boat at a minimum. It was just a bit too much to take on for me. If I had the cash laying around I'd have probably already done it.

I'm about 2 hours and 56 minutes closer than you. It's in a barn about 2 miles from where I'm sittin'. Check your PMs...

Frank,
if you look at the boat please send me the HIN and where it is located on the boat please for alittle research project going on not interested in this boat

Mario
the early 20 were built like tanks very heavy well riding boats, on the volvo sbc boats you'll find plenty of room, storage as well, probably a great candidate for a resto if you do get the boat we can send you some info on what we did on kenny's and where to get some stuff good luck :)

I would not be so fast on scraping the volvo , kenny's held it own in the cig run a few years back in while some bigger newer 20 had problems we spent around 50 miles of a 70 mile run at near to wot plus even Phil Lipshutz like the old school hot rod feel to that boat That was a good run pretty cool to see the first 20 and the last 20 in the same place of course with about 20 other 20's that one was nicer than the next

Mattyboy - I bought it and picked it up last weekend. It is in good shape and pretty much unmolested (engind hatch storage boxes not cut out etc and all hardware there). I am having it stripped now and will have the guys look for and report back on HIN number and location.

Doing a complete resto with a Mel Riggs Blackhawk, 650hp 540cid and will keep teak trim going for vintage racing look - may do black on side an white deck just like most famous "The Cigarette" boat. Expecting 85-90 mph along with an substantial jump in insurance premium...

just remember this is an older cig the factory equipped late model black hawk cigs had a different bottom so they will run a little faster than an older hull similarly equipped the older boats were tanks too but the added weight gave them a nice ride
