I have been looking for CNG or LPG conversion component for my 6.0 Vortec. Anyone have any experience with a supplier. I have played with propane on forklifts and sorta know about how it all works. I am not so sure how you would do it on a fuel injected engine.

I've wondered about this myself. I bet there's a lot of component substitution in the fuel flow path.

Then, some of the CNG engines I've seen are bi-fueled, i.e., they start on gas. I bet that gets interesting.

CNG conversion kit is $5500 for my 2006 Ford F150
Runs either CNG or gasoline

65 cents a litre====$2.60 gallon

Shell serice station 2 miles from me has CNG

If you need more info on the conversion,the company that sells and installs the system is 30 minutes from me.............Ed

How much gasoline can you buy for $5500.00.

The cost differential at $3.50 a gallon for gasoline vs $2.60 for the LP would take me a long time to realize the savings.

I think we need to explore hydrogen power. Have a system to pick up water as we run, a pump system like our seapumps, to pressurize and process the water, and fill the tank as we run. Never run out of fuel!
Refills as the boat runs. As close to a sailboat as I want to get!:doh:

Is there a MPG difference between gas and CNG also? Kind of like E85: sure it's supposed to be cleaner/cheaper(?), but it takes a heck of a lot more of it to get the job done so in the end is it really worth it?

Barry; with your gas at $3.50 I can see what you mean

BUT

I'm paying $1.27 a litre = $5.12 a U.S. gallon:eek!: ...Ed
