Hey guys, this is a Lindberg 1:32 scale plastic model I will be coverting to R/C.

It won't be done until about mid-September at the earliest because the motors I ordered havn't and wont come out until sometime in September.

So, I'm going to build the deck and finish the hull later.

Looking good, especially with the paint.

I sware, it kills me that they go white with the plastic, when they should mold it in color,... oh well.

It'll be nice to see it when it's done, and to see how you overcome making it rigged for R/C.

Hi..I have the same kit... What eng did u get?...my kit came with the single eng twin screw electric motor. I had this same boat/kit as a kid in early 80's. I was thinking of going gas or some higher ouput electric engines...ie turn into a real twin eng boat w/ RC control...

I'm using two Traxxas Titan Marine 550 motors, which won't be available until Mid-September, heres the link; http://www.rcuniverse.com/product_guide/engineprofile.cfm?engine_id=1687

And for a ESC I'm using a Traxxas EVX-2 Marine ESC:
http://www.rcslot.com/pc-radio-control-slot-cars/TRA3020.html

I'm also using two 30mm brass props which will counter-rotate inwards with a couple of prop shafts I ordered along with the props, and will be using two 7.2 Volt battery-packs, I'm thinking 3000's....

No worries! Ask all the questions you want! I'm willing to answer em, gives me something to do! :biggrin.:

As for props I'm using two RABOESCH 30mm type-a three bladed brass props, one RH and the other LH...part numbers 146-09 (right handed) and 146-10 (left handed)

As for shafts...I'm not sure about the ones I ordered.....might send em back, depending on the sizes, let ya know as soon as I get em!

BTW, about the chopper, I'm thought about purchasing one and learning to fly em, but figured I'd do this first so I wouldn't cry when I couldn't afford to do another project after a crash....hahaha!

Forgot my latest picture and explaining the engine mounting....

For mounts, I'm going to use marine-grade ply and just fabricate something....I've built r/c boats before, but never a electric one, so....we will see.....

Air,

I used to fly those,... not scale, but the "3-d" ones. I sold my last one a couple of months ago to finance my R/C warbird (F4U Corsair), 72" wingspan, 20cc gas engine. Still putting it together.

I'll have to dig up my last flight video and post a link. It was lots of fun, but crashes cost me more than my F4U did :shocking:

Yeah, it is one of my favorites due to the unique shape,... and of course it was bad-azz. The model I'm building is this one

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/ProductGallery.aspx?ProdID=HAN2575

powered by this gas engine

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdId=ZENE20EI

At this point, all I have done is the outer wing panels attached to the center section. My buddy had and wrecked one, the gas engine is a TON of torque, and he is a fairly inexperienced pilot / builder, but he's not giving up, waiting for the new plane to show up to put all the gear from the crashed on into.

I've also got a 66" wingspan aerobatic Bi-Plane, a 60" Wingspan Douglas Skyraider, and a small "pattern" aerobatic plane. Unfortunately, I haven't been flying in probably 6 weeks.

My helicopter was a JR Vigor, and it was awesome, but just too expensive to repair, and as I was working on some extreme aerobatics, I was crashing quite a bit,.... never could beat the "2 mistakes high" rule into my head lol.

Anyway, I'll upload the video to my site, and put a link here, but it is a BIG video, takes some time to download, and better pilots can be found easily on you-tube lol.

Thanks!

As I said, I loved the Heli, but just got too expensive for me to maintain, and I wanted the Corsair and the Bi-Plane, so it was a "trade", unfortunately, in my little world right now, I can't have both, and who knows when I'll get another Donzi - I suspect when my son starts school (3 years). I do have another heli on the way - my buddies old one, he's selling his AirWolf that I clear coated, and getting another 3-d heli, and he's giving me his old Raptor .90 3-d heli as trade for painting him a new canopy :D

Right now I've got 1 R/C boat hull to paint, and 2 more on the way, then maybe I'll be able to put some more time on the Corsair, I'd like to get it done, and now's a good time, after TS Fay, the field is flooded, it's like trying to take off from a swamp.

I really enjoy flying the planes, no stresses about crashing (well, only about 1/100th of the stresses with the heli), and the big ones with the gas engines just tickle me to death - I'm done with Nitro planes, good power, but just too small.
