Yes. Its a great boat but it just did not perform. It originall had twin yamahas on it. It ran good them but sometime before I got someone put an Evinrude 275 v8 on it. It was a real PIG. Would not even get on plane.

Yeah. Just what I wanted to do...
spend 3 times the money for the engine that I spent on the boat. No One can deny that the outboard motor ruins the lines of the Classic.

no disrespect, but why didnt you buy an I/O boat? Wasnt that like the only factory O/B they made? Dont get me wrong, I dont mind hacking up a boat:wink:. Sory if this has allready been allready discussed:angel: .

Tigweld to answer your question on why didn't I just buy an IO 22 to begin with,

1). Because it was owned LOCALLY by a friend

2). It was half the price of an IO 22.

3). I did not buy it with the intentions of converting it over. That came after I found out what a freaking pig it was.... As for putting a better engine on it, I do not have 18 thousand + dollars to buy an outboard motor to fix the pig problem

4). As for reselling it and buying an IO Boat, everyone says how rare it is but it was for sale for close to 2 years and nobody wanted a damn thing to do with it. In my opinion the out board motor ruins the lines of a donzi classic.

The boat still is valuable/UNIQUE because it has a documented history and It can always be converted back to TWIN outboard motors.

IN MY OPINION THERE IS A REASON THEY ONLY DID ONE OF THESE.....
