What kinda parts ya looking for???
It really depends on what it is you need....we always seem to make do. But thewre's no factory support. The company's changed hands several times since your boat was built.

Thanks for the reply gcarter. Really as of right now what I REALLY need is the wood panel holding the gauges....but as I run through the boat, I am sure to find more.

Also looking for a company in my area that makes T-tops for this boat and cant find any.

Thanks for the friendly welcome.... hope us cali boys are welcome! :nilly:

Welcome to the board!

Welcome to the board!

Welcome to the board!
That Poodle....he's a friendly guy!
Where are you in CA? If you're in norcal, I can possibly help. I don't have a source for OEM stuff, but I work for a yacht dealer in Oakland and know a few people/yards in this area who can pretty much build anything from custom wood to aluminum or SS T-tops. Drop me a PM or give me a call at 510-825-5056 and let me know what you're thinking of.

Say, you're boat wouldn't be yellow, would it? Maybe came from Santa Ana?

Cause, you know, I dig yellow boats. :pimp:

Mad Poodle, thanks for the advice and heads up!! Zelatore, that would be the boat. Finalized the deal a few days ago and am doing a sea trial on the 8th.....what do you know of this boat??

Oh yeah, and I am located in socal....Encino to be exact.

I figured the gauge panel would be an easy custom fix, but would like to try and find something more "original". SS T-Tops is what I am REALLY in search for, but dont want to drag the thing all the way up to the bay area.

Sorry, I don't know a thing about the boat. I just stumbled accross the ad and figured it sounded an awful lot like the boat you described. Looks nice in the pic.

Any competent yard will either have an in-house s/s guy, or work closely with an independant one. I don't deal with the SoCal yards much, so I can't make any solid recomendations. Here in the bay area I use Alameda Marine Metal Fab; Svendson's Metal Shop; or Metal Magic. Not much help for your area I know.

Custom work isn't cheap - I'd guess you'd start at $2000+ depending on what sort of options you wanted.

There are some generic options that are much cheaper. For example, you can get this through West Marine for about $800:

Or here's an aluminum one for $1000
http://www.budgetboattowers.com/

Or here's a little nicer aluminum one starting at $1750
http://www.oceantops.com/ttops.html

Just a few ideas to get you started.

Or you could drag that puppy up here and run around the bay for a while...I'm gettin' lonely trying to get some Donzi people to come out and play in the delta.

I dont know how you found all of those t-tops, but thanks!! I have searched for them and only came up with a few. I want to keep the price right around 2K.....but really would like a half tower some day. Found a bitchin place in FL that made one.

Wouldn't mind at all getting up to the bay area some time to do some fishing. Have had some good times there. Do you have an F-23 as well? What did you think about the price on this boat? Seemed reasonable?

Fishing? What's that? :dolphin:

Actually, as a kid back in the midwest I used to get up early and go out fishing. Half the time I didn't even bother wetting a line...I just wanted to drive the boat.

Myself, I've got a 22 Classic and a 32 Carver Montego. I suppose you could fish the Montego if I took the canvas down. :)

One of the brands we handle is Albin, "fishing machines for the cruising family". So I've rigged a few fishing boats and have some clients who fish, but I'm not into it myself. I used to have a good friend here who did some guide work and fished a couple BASS tournaments, but since he moved back to Texas I haven't even picked up a rod. And again, I mostly just thought it was fun to 'race' the cars on the levees in his bass boat.

I do have to admit I really like a lot of fishing boats, from smaller center consoles like your F23 to large convertibles like a Viking (we're former Viking dealers) or Hatteras. They typically are very functional and have classic lines instead of the latest styling gimmicks. Plus outriggers just look cool.

Welcome to the affliction:wink:

There are a few of us here running the Clip-on, Center Seating version of DONZI.....and more are lurking, I just know it.

As for the 23. I would PM Fishboy, Budmann and Mr. X. I know they all have expereince with the 23. Fish and Buddy may have even done some of the orginal work on your boat....maybe.

Good Luck and Tight Lines.

So Fishin, you feel any rock 'n roll around 11:30 this morning or are you too far north?

Thanks for the heads up team jefe, I saw some of Fishboys posting....he's got a clean F-23! I will get in contact with them.

Zelatore, yeah I felt the rockin. I was in the process of sitting down when hit, and almost lost my landing. It was pretty rough....hope this F-23 rides smoother than that! Reminded me of my old Nordskog Flatbottom!

Fishboys boat was really clean, but every picture I ever saw of it had it pushing another boat ahead of it w/a rope.

There's a shop down the street from me that builds T-tops and accessories....that's where I get all my anodized structural aluminum bits and pieces. They do nice work too. Probably a bit too far for you though.

I have had 2 23's and would be glad to help with any questions you may have.
I will warn you to keep the flip up section in the back, in the up position whenever you are in the water. These boats sit pretty low in the water and I have personally seen another 23 fill full of water while fishing. They had their door down and a wave came in from the stern..
Other than that, they are one of the best riding cc's for their size.
I don't know where you can get the piece you are looking for, but find a good marine carpenter, and let do it..
Good luck,
Ricky

Posted some pics......Hoping to hear your guys feedback.

There are some very small stress cracks on the front end deck of the boat, near the front chest. Is this normal on these boats, or is it something I should worry about? The crack basically runs up the side where the deck meets the side of the boat. (Sorry about my lack of a better description)
