I've been cruising this site for some time and figured I'd post up. I recently picked up 'Relentless'. Great boat…now that it runs!

This is my first boating experience, and needless to say it didn’t start out so hot. After a week or so of cleaning it up, I drag it down to the marina for quick trip to test sea worthiness. I bought the boat from a friend of a friend so I figured that it would run pretty good. After I get out of the marina, I have about 5 minutes up on plane when she starts to sputter and stalls. I start it back up to see (0) on the oil pressure and massive rod knock. Check the bilge and its full of oil. Being in the mouth of the Niagara river at this point, I tried to throw the anchor to no avail. Called the coast guard and luckily got a courtesy tow due to my ‘imminent danger’ in the Niagara river. Mostly because I was heading for the bridge and could have hit a piling..(not really but possibility).

So she got a whole new engine. Soup to nuts, the only items salvageable were the cam and the lifters. Somehow they must have had enough oil on them. Come to find out this whole mess was caused by two $4 parts, the breathers were plugged, built crankcase pressure and pushed the oil out the dipstick. (Didn’t figure that out until all this was over). My friend and I pulled the engine and rebuilt it.

Specs on the motor:
385 SBC .040 over, Stroked
Diamond Forged pistons
Eagle Crank / Scat rods
World Heads 200cc runners
New accessories, marine water pump, alternator

Anyway, figured I’d say hi!!

I bought my Donzi in Rochester, NY two weeks ago and brought it back to St Petersburg, FL. Mechanic is just about done tuning it up and then will have it detailed before I take it out on the Gulf.

Nice looking Ragazza!
If you don't mind, how much did you pay for yours?
I'm trying to sell mine and would be good reference.

The Coast Guard is awesome. They could have just called you a tow boat. Nice boat but the 5 blade prop seems unusual.
