Hey,

The fuel guage is not reading anywhere close. Just reads 1/4 tank, + or - ..

The gauges are all Gaffrig (2001).

Anyone run the solid state sender ? If so, what length ?

I really don't want to break the seal to measure.

I would check the connections at the tank also check to make sure the tank has not lost ground!

When you turn the key off, does the needle go back to empty?
If so, there is nothing wrong with your gauge, your sendor is stuck or broken.
What seal are you talking about?
There should be 5-6 bolts/screws holding the sendor in place on top of the tank. Disconnect the wires, remove the screws, and see what is going on in there. A new sendor is under $50, in fact, I'll bet it's under $30.
I had a client recently that had 30 years of gunky, crappy, varnish in his tank. Held the sendor in the half tank position.
There is also a test you can do to test the gauge, disconnect the positive lead, and touch it to a known good ground. If the needle on the gauge moves, the sendor is bad.
