What are all the steps to be taken to perform a "tune-up" on a 454 carbed magnum. It is in a 1996 22 Clasic. I have done the normal winterization over the years on the engine but never anything extra. I've done oil and filters but not much more. What would a tune up consist of and what would a certified tech usually charge?

Seems Like Distributer Cap & Rotor , Spark Plugs + Plug Wires
Clean Flame Arrestor . Spray Wd 40 On Linkages + Wire Connections , Would Be A Good Start . Also I Would Use Good Marine Quality Parts .

If it works fine...Leave It Alone. Maybe replace the plugs yourself. NOTHING MORE. A "Certified" Tech is in business to Make Money. :nilly: John

PS: The key is: If It Works Fine. OK: Retired Techs ....GET ME!:smash:
