I splashed the 22 yesterday afternoon for about an hour. I took it easy but It really feels fast.
I had the usually array of nits to fix.

1. prop - Its cavitating alot. I was using a 3 blade mirage. going to a 4 blade.

2. carb - the new demon card is loading up periodically.

3. gauges - some of the new livorsi gauges were not registering correctly. some config needed

4. starter - does not work sometimes. loose wire on solenoid in rear of engine. Also drags when trying to start (sounds like timing advanced)

5. oil pressure - when throttlling back it seemed a bit low. possible I need a different oil cooler and different oil.

other than that I am pretty stoked. Oh and with those pipes IT IS REALLY LOUD!

On a new motor the oil filter usually gets a little restricted really quick- not clogged just restricted. It does sound normal fine tuning stuff. Prop thing is normal now the fun begins with props.
I want that picture of you at first run.

150:1 bravo well with a HUNDREDANDFIFTYTOONE gear, you'll need about a 235x15" prop

If you got a true 550 hp I would start with a 27 my preference is the TXP(no vent holes). From that point we would know which way to go if needed. If the drive was deeper I would go with a 26. I would use a 4 blade only if absolutely necessary. The current 4 blades aer out of sync with the newer 3 blade designs. All the 4 blades are at least 14 years old. As always give your self a little time to get use to the boat and prop combo. For me this is the most learning and fun part. You are going to love this thing you have your own sweat and tears in it it will be great.

Congrats! Enjoy the rest of the season! It's always rewarding when you've put as much work into it as you did.
