Well after 2 months of hard work, and alot of coin, the 502 roared to life this afternoon. No leaks of any kind:crossfing:, and it ran smoothly. Oil pressure and temp came up and I got the timing set. I got lucky the first time and was pretty close on the timing.

Tomorrow, I am off to a local lake to break her in for a few hours. Wish me luck.

I really just want to thank all the guys on the board for their input and advice especially Buizilla, sorry for all the phone time, Mop, George Carter, Mr. Fixall, Cuda, and everyone else who gave their input and support. You guys are the best.

Enjoy your 4th everyone.:happy_bi: USA

Way to go!!

As they say, good things come to those that wait, and being in Florida, this time of year, waiting can kill 'ya

Anyway, congrats, enjoy, and have a good 4th

Good job Bob. As Phil said, vary the rpm to break it in. Be careful tomorrow, it is an amature day, Some people only run their boats on holidays.

Good luck!

Ran it for an about 2 hours today. Ran well, not perfect.:thewave:
I'll double check timing and plug wires, cap, etc tomorrow, er Sunday, need a day off. Also check with the scan tool and see if all the sensors are all running properly.

Still only maxed the tach at 4600. Wonder if the throttle cable is an issue? Adjustment.

Anyways, I'm happy that it ran, started, etc. Time for a beer!

Sounds like a plan, George.

How is the water level up there, by the way. I would assume it up quite a ways from where it was a few months ago.

I'm not sure, but it seems to be fine.
We've been getting rain just about every day.

Yes I've been watching it. I hope it gets nowhere close to your house.
But we're still behind for rainfall too.
