man those suckers are some big in your neck of the woods, in Long Island Sound they are 1/2 that size. Ling is some good eating!

Same fish. I used to live up in the panhandle, and didn't even know what a cobia was. Some of them can be north of #100. I once saw a huge cobia over an artifical reef, right smack day in the center of a school of baracudas. They were all just hovering there. I coudn't get a bait to the cobia, before one of those damn cudas grabbed it.

Goooooooooooooooood eating man!!
Nice catch, when's dinner??
I used to catch a fair number of them when I fished in the Suncoast Tarpon Round Up. I fished during the week by myself, which isn't easy, pulling the anchor while you keep an eye on the pod, the try to anchor far enough in front to get about three pinfish in the water before the tarpon got there. I caught quite a few 12-15 pound cobia, and I just about make them skip across the top like Billl Dance bringing in a bluegill. I did find out after the first one, a green cobia on your deck is not a good idea.
