I posted a contest over on the Lake Powell DACA thread in the 'events and gatherings' section - thought I'd put it over here so more people will see it. Take a look here - it's at the bottom of page 10

http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=52055&page=10

Check it out and make your wager...the game closes at 8:00 AM Pacific Time on Friday and I'll post the winner then.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've totaled up the gas receipts for the boat and truck. Any guesses? Closest to the pin wins a S/S Donzi logo. I'll post a winner on Friday

I'm including the truck to make it difficult for the guys who were there, seeing how they have the unfair advantage of knowing how far we ran each day...

The bidding has closed.

And the winner is.....

osur866 at $1033.97

Here's the break down:
I filled the boat before heading out so I would have a solid starting point. Since I was pulling it out each night and staying in town (Page, AZ) I could fill up in the morning before heading out, and luckily Page had the cheapest gas I saw all trip - $4.05/gal !! Although on one of our longer runs I put a few gallons in at Dangling Rope just to be sure I'd have plenty to get back, and at $5.50-something that sort of drove the average up.

The boat got 86.29 gallons for a total of $358.59. Average price worked out to $4.16/gal.

The truck is a 1/2 ton Dodge Hemi quad cab. Towing was between 65 and 85 mph most of the way, even over the mountains.

The truck got a total of 154.51 gallons at $704.24. Average price worked out to $4.56/gal.

The on-board computer says I got 11.6 mpg, but the math says 11.4

Total miles round trip - 1759.3

So we've got a grand total of 240.8 gallons and $1,062.83.

osur866 missed it by $29.30. Only off by 2.8% Pretty darn close. :propeller:

PM me your shipping info and I'll send out your prize.

(the scary part is I'll probably put close to that in my Carver next week for the 4th :( )

Now where's my stimulus check!!!!

Got the PM - I'll ship your grand prize out Tuesday!

Man, these trucks are getting expensive to fill. Best to just stick with the boats.
