You fellows that have speed restrictions on your lakes ans rivers come to 1000 Islands event, once clear of Alex bay you have miles of fantastic running. If it is a bit rough on the US side just a short hop gets you over to the Canadian side, one or the other is alway good running. Now for the tourist types like me the area provides some of the best scenery you will ever see, they call it the 1000 Islands but in fact there are 1900 islands. Some of the most beautiful Victorian home nestle on theses islands along with some great history. There are castles to explore and so much boat related stuff it takes weeks to see it all. And leave it to the Canadians to have the finest ice cream shop I have ever been in in Kingston. August 1 through the 3rd mark it on your calenders, refer to the 1000 Islands 2008 post for lodging and updates.
