how deep is the water there? The article says it was in 500' of water. And I thought Lake Ontario was shallow!

how deep is the water there?

The article said "the vessel sits in an area where the water is up to 500 feet deep".

Oops, looks like we hit enter at the same time.....

And I thought Lake Ontario was shallow! Wow was I wrong. The lake is from 100' to 800' deep off-shore:blub:. It has the same surface area as Lake Erie but four times the water volumn. I can see how it took so long to find the wreck.:alligator

Oops, looks like we hit enter at the same time.....

I just saw that myself. Very cool history lesson...except of course for the lost sailors:(

Let's just hope I don't have a 2nd boat to sink! (the 1st was NOT a Donzi...thankfully)
