Deneen and I are in Lake George for 4 days. (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, leaving for Rockefeller Center area on Monday morning.) We have a couple of play's/shows/theatre planned, (Jersey Boys etc) and have a few lunch/dinner spots planned,... (sort of)

Is there anything we just HAVE to see?

We plan on seeing Downtown Manhattan, Wall Street, Empire State building, Ground Zero. I would love to see the Statue of Liberty but haven't figured that out yet, we are going to the "top of the Rock" and also wouldn't mind seeing a game in Yankee Stadium, (but still up in the air.)

What are the MUSTS for out of towners? Deneen was there a number of years ago. I have only EVER been to the airport(s) on fly through's.

La Nouvelle Justine!

An excellent dining experience. I suggest that you do a little research on the menu before you go:eek!:

If Mistress Deborah is there, tell her that The Hedgehog sent you! She will likely comp you a treat!:shocking:

Isn't that THE Original fast food hamburger...even before Mickey Ds? I think their burgers were 12 cents. When Mickeys came on line, their burgers were 15 cents and frys were 12 cents. OH: And gas was 26 cents/gal. for regular. "High Test" was 32 cents. :smash: John

If it's really hot and you feel like going for a boat ride to cool off, try the "Circle Line Cruise" around Manhatten. You might even be able to combine that with the Statue of Liberty.

Lots of great places to eat in the city. One of the things I miss most since moving to Florida.

If you're hungry, check out http://www.churrascariaplataforma.com/ It's a Brazilian barbecue place. The nicest one I've ever been to. they give you a little coaster thing with a red side and green side. Once you turn it over to Green, it's interesting what happens next. Waiters with spits of meat will keep coming up to your table and slicing off different kinds of meats for you to try. They won't stop until you go red again. If you like your meat well done, it may not be the best place in the world for you. If you're a vegetarian......ignore this entire paragraph (although they DO have one of the most impressive salad bars I've ever seen).

I was a regular at John's Pizza in the West Village for years. On Bleeker St, many think it's the best pizza in the city. no slices and no credit cards. http://newyork.citysearch.com/review/7116744

If you want a quick beer, check out Jeckll and Hyde's. MAke sure you stay for the Frankenstein show. And scope out the bathroom before you really have to go.......men's room is accessible via a "secret" door behind a bookcase. http://www.jekyllandhydeclub.com/

Lots of fun stuff to do in the city.........

The wife says Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum is right up there?
Chinatown is right next to Little Italy must see.
Saw Coppola shooting Godfather 3 there years ago.

Greyline has an on and off bus around town double deck with everyone on top.

The beast gives a water tour to the Statue of Liberty
Equipped with two 2600-horsepower engines, the 70' long boat can reach a heart-pounding speed of 40 knots
http://www.allnewyorktours.com/body.asp?tour=NYC-W0024&page=TourDetails&headerson=off

Then they have these duck boat/buses that go in the Hudson a little bit.

I would offer to give you a tour in the X-18 but I got to get the engine fixed again, so out of service now.

The Shark is another speedboat tour (same operator) that leaves from South Street Seaport. The seaport is pretty cool as well. http://gonyc.about.com/od/sightseeingtours/fr/circle_shark.htm

on the south east rim of the WTC site is a bronzed wall monument honoring the fallen firefighter's... it is a beautiful and sobering rendition.... a MUST see.... the day Janice and I saw it was the first day they unveiled it, there were literally dozens of openly balling firefighters that day at the exhibit..... less than 50 yards away on the next southern corner is a great little Irish Pub that serves real cold beer and good food...

I am still kind of surprise that nobody checked out La Nouvelle Justine!

On a serious note, I can turn you on to a number of real nice dining experiences in the city.

No, the best pizza is from Famous Ray's on 11 Ave & 6th Street. There are other Famous Ray's around the city, not the same. You can order slices, just don't expect to hold it; it's the home of the 10 lb. pizza. John's is tomato pie.

Sharp's for steak, don't remember the address.

The human body exhibit at South Street Seaport is pretty amazing and very controversial...and the seaport area itself is pretty cool.
...and while at Lake George you should treat that bride to a dinner at the Sagamore and treat yourself to Davidsons Brew Pub in Glens Falls, best mirco brews around. I'll even buy the first round.

That is a great one
you mixed up the address, it's Ray's at 6th Avenue and 11th Street
I saw Danny Devito there one time.

ahhhh, sitting in the First Class lounge at Vancouver International Airport awaiting my flight. More free booze and treats than I could ever eat/drink... :)

I might just stay here and be "between flights" forever :D

4 hours till the plane. (reason being the ferry schedule from the Island to the Mainland) Wish me luck.

See ya in 12 hours :)

Central Park, Grand Central Station are two of my favorite spots. My wife and I like to grab lunch at the Rockefeller Cafe and we always have a great meal at the Red Eye Grille.
If you have time and it's a nice day it's pretty cool to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
