When I turn the key to start. Te starter just "clicks". Does it sound like a bad starter? Or could it be somthing else?
The battery is new.:dolphin:
Before you go for the starter check the assist solenoid, it is the small solenoid located on the front of the port exhaust manifold. It is where the push button breaker is and close to the wire harness plug, if you have someone else turn the key you can put your hand on the solenoid and feel the click. Then move your hand down to the starter and repeat the process you should feel the click. If you feel no click at the starter change the small one on the manifold, that on passes the current from the switch to the starter.

Thanks Phil
On my 4.3 the breaker is on the top of the motor behind the carb.
It is vintage 1996.Does the same still apply?
Thanks

It was a bad starter. The bendix worked but the motor is burned out.
Off to the marine parts store.:convertib:
All we can do is try, glad you are getting it fixed. Don't forget to never seize the bolts.
