OK Sports fans, this one is curious. What is the consensus? Never seen a 1964 Donzi 16. Is it? Original color or faded red? Originally v-8 or ? Interesting anyway. What the hell is that? SNL Tom

Never seen the exhaust so low down on any Donzi.
Why would they do that and what is the purpose?

Lack of clamshell vents tells me that it a very early boat.

Coral was an original color and that exhaust was common on the older models.....seen it many times. I'd believe it to be a '64.

Sweet little 16

Great point, but how do you go about proving it? Anyone else ever see an early pink 16?

I used to own this boat. I know all about it........ I agree with Poodle's comments about the seller............ watch out and beware. If anyone wants to talk to me about the boat send me a private message..........

I have a 1976 x-18 that has what appears to be the same exhaust tips--they are "trumpet exhaust ports" from Glenwood Marine in Gardena, California. I called them and talked with an old timer for a half hour. He said that they never fitted hulls for boat builders, but that many builders, west and east coast, used their stuff. They still sell a bunch of cool 60's and 70's equip.
As for the exhaust location---?????:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Thanks to Brian / the folks on this board for contacting me prior to picking it up. I have decided not to get it based on a lot of the history folks provided. The color was way cool though and made it hard to walk away from. A nice yellow or red will do the trick though.

I'll continue my search for a 16 or an 18. I have some cash and will continue to search. Just missed one on this board ...
