BigGrizzly, I'd like to try and find a better prop for my boat. I could just call you, but I thought I'd let others follow along.

What info do you need from me to get a baseline?

Current setup is 04 22C, 496HO, Procharger 3.5psi running a 27" Q4. I haven't yet hit the rev limiter, but I have nudged 5200rpm. I have no doubt I'd be on the limiter if I could keep the boat settled down long enough. My gut tells me I couldn't properly turn a 29, but the 28 would be just right. The current prop is the only one I've ever run (except for a 28 Bravo the very 1st time out).

If it'll help in the decision making, I'll run the Bravo again. I also bought a 29 M+ that DonCig is bringing to Powell for me. I got the M+ because I'm curious what it'll do. If I hate it, I'll sell it, but I might like it.

I have a bent 21p cleaver that Ill sell you. Think how cool your boat will sound at 10,000 rpm!

Hey BigGrizzly,

are you somebody that could help me with a prop for my 2003 22c with a 496HO in it? The mirage plus seems to have lots of bad habits.

Please call if you are Interested in te challenge. :)
Thanks,

Tom

Grizz is a little under the weather right now, so don't expect a quick reply. I would do a search in the performance section. There will be plenty of thoughts on props and 22s there.

Tom, I have tried a few props on my 05 496 HO 22 classic....this is what I found so far on MY boat still tweaking some.....

Mirage (came on boat when I bought it) No good bad handling but was a fast prop, but sucked in sloppy water....got rid of that immediately

26P TXP Turbo prop love this prop great handling in most water conditions and fast 74-75 GPS @ 4800 RPM (light)

Labbed & worked some by BBlades 26P Bravo I awesome handling boat feels like its on rails in any water conditions however lost about 3 mph run about 70-71 GPS @ 5000 rpm, sending back to BBlades for more tweaking.

IMO the TXP or Bravo is the best all around props for the late model 22 classics...

Some other members with prop testing under there belt are Air22, Dr. Dan, Bob Haver, etc....do a search...good luck PM me is you wanna talk some more..

Undertaker:)
