Have a 16 with mercruiser 350 magnum MPI, would like to add thru hull exhaust, do not need anything switchable, is this difficult, can I do it myself and is there any mods to the engine required,

Tips, exhaust hose and something to block off the y-pipe are all you need. You will want to seal around the side of the holes with epoxy. And don't glue the tips in with 5200 or anything like that. They will seal up fine without it.

If you are feeling real sporty, you can pull the engine, take out the Y-pipe and put in a block off plate. It is better to just seal off the ends of the Y and save that for when you need to pull the engine for something else.

Another benefit to leaving the Y in is that you can always add switchable later if you want.

Just make sure you cut the holes in the right places:smash:

If you are not going to switchable you can buy Plumbers caps and clamp them over the Y pipe, I have those on my boat.

Yes sir. That is what we did with the 16 as well. Works fine
