Im the proud owner of a 2002 rc51 with 2450 miles on it.

I drove up to conneticut last night to look at the bike with my e350 super cargo. I get there and the bike was under a cover... let me tell you this bike is showroom condition. You know when you have a new bike and it makes a sort of whirring sound? well this still had it. the akropovic exhaust isnt even broken in. the bike still has 75% tread left on the dunlop 208's WOOHOO!!

the bike still has the stock lights on it. only mod it has is the exhaust(full akropovic, k&n and a power commander.

I got a cover, tank bra and a disc lock as extras.

the guy was cool but would not budge on the price. funny story, I figured he would take 6500 for it, so thats what i got form the bank. When i got there and gave him the money and said its only 6500 thats all i have and 10 bux in my wallet. he still wanted 6800. SOO I said ok i put my hand out for the money, and i say sorry man thats all i have, get in my van and drive off. I was really driving to the atm to get the extra 300 bux, the bike is so mint it was worth it. so as im driving to the atm(which is like 4 miles form his house. Im holding the phone in my hand hoping he will call. HE doesnt. so after i get the money, i ask would he at least meet me halfway on the 300 and take 6650(split the 300- 150) he said no i wa slike OK FINE.

what a hard guy to deal with, but I dont blame him the bike was very well taken care of and MINT MINT MINT!!! I'm in the process of buying the new model top of the line bell helmet, has mroe ventilation then ANY full face helmet. and im buying a jacket as well!!

I still have to get it insured and registered but im taking my time!!

here are the pics!!!

I haven't tried the new Bell helmet, but I've heard it's got a ton of features.

FWIW, Compititon Accesories is running a pretty good deal right now on Shoei RF-1000's; limited sizes and colors, but about half price if you find one you like.

Myself, I've been wearing an Arai for about 10 years now, but I'm thinking of switching to a Shoei as well. I tried my brother's and it's comfy and nearly as quiet as mine but a solid hundred bucks less.

I'm thinking you'll be shoping for some tires soon to. Plenty of tread or not, those things are probabably stones by now. :eek!: Plus, tires have come a long, long way.

That's one clean bike. My dad was a honda dealer, opened in 1960, met Mr Honda in Japan in 1967. Set some land speed records at Bonneville salt flats in 1970 and 1971. Those were some good times. Take care, Ride safe. Chris

BTW - the guy you bought it from must have had some kind of balls! If you put the $6500 in my hand and then walked away, I'd have caved.

But I'm just a wimp...too many times at the brokerage I've seen guys kill a deal over a couple thousand bucks only to have their boat sit on the market another 3 months while they make payments and it depreciates. I like to tell them - the first offer is usually the best offer!

I was going to get an arai but the rep from bell cam into the dealer I use to work for and had the new bell star helmet. I compared it directly to the top of the line arai and hands down the bell had more comfort was a tad lighter and it looks much better IMHO, there 200-300 cheaper then the arai, its a no brainer. after all bell invented the helmet

check out the technology in them, I orderd the ace of spades at my dealer at cost!!(around 265) SCORE!!!

Me too!
Infact, the first three or four bikes didn't cost that much.
Of course cars and gasoline were less then too.
