If you pull up on sandy beaches allot it is a good Idea. without it, It'll sand your Gel Coat off in that area. If you dont beach it then you don't need it.

I use it on several boats - Keelguard - I dock my boats on jetdocks and beach them often, nice to have them when putting a boat on a trailer - bump into all kinds of stuff.

I've had good succcess with them - you have to follow the directions closely.

The Keelguard product is applied to a short section of the bow so when the boats on plane and running at speed I don't think it should affect hull dynamics.

Soon to be an addition in both the Criterion and the Corsican. I have a couple of friends that use them worl very well IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. First time for everything.

Like Randy says follow the instructions the contact area must be pristine for good adhesion.

Keel Guards ...
If you beach Y not..

Stereo ...
Open exhaust and a nice cam is all a "REAL DONZITE" needs for pure pleasure!

Just so we are clear, on a true Donzi a keel guard is OK, but a stereo isn't ???? :D :D

Again Y not! You can hardly hear tunes at speed :bonk: and I would say most everyone does not want to damage there :boat:.

I didnt have a keelgaurd on my 16 .. needed to redo the gel about every year or so on a pretty good size area .. Put a keelgaurd on my 18 ... bottom is still like new:yes::yes: from what i understand , if you have a bow roller , it will weaken the adhesive over a period of time ... i highly recommend it if you are going to beach it often

Could someone be kind enough to post a pic of exactly what we're talking about? I have a vision of a rubber blue or red stripe on the keel, similar to what I see on PWC's, is that what we're talking about, or am I way off?

Thanks Boxy, I think I'll just continue to drop anchor in 2-3 feet of water, and get a little wet as I walk to shore. No big deal, that's just me. I will however anchor close enough to shore to listen to the stereo.:)

Just funnin' with ya MOP.
