I sent in a letter to the Editor of powerboat mag.(june 2008)Titled 'Outboard interest'.....And I made the "headline" letter. They put a picture in "concept"(NOT DONZI)......They spelled my last name wrong,oh-well:doh:
Not Bad for a Truck Driver!:propeller:
I wonder if donzi will make an outboard model?

They have been there and done that with the Baby 16. I heard that if you beg, kick and scream, Donzi will produce you a 16 outboard. Not sure if it is true or not.

Something else I noticed. The 6.2L 320 hp V-8 is no longer an option on the 18C. Only comes with the 350 mag 300hp now.

Iam looking at the progression 24xl with a single 300 hp outboard. Also the superboat 24 twin-step $55,000 +/-....Nice fast outboard boats great fuel mpg.Nice cabins.Superboats are race boats.Progressions are very well made both boats are custom order boats. Also like checkmate 24 pulsare.Need to get donzi to get into this market as the future of boating for avg. income boaters,Who Cant afford gas is here.If I put 80 gals in for $4 bucks a gal.thats $320 a weekend. I refuse to go out and float. Go to the sand-bar and hang out.SCREW THAT.I live in a small town and obama is right Iam BITTER clinging to my boat and my beer and blaming THE LIBERALS and the Greedy oil companys and 9/11 arab SOB,s might as well blame myself and my suv.I hope this post doesnt get deleted:eek!: gota love capt. and coke!

Iam looking at a 30ft 7' beam,y2k model superboat.LIGHT and FAST with twin 250hp xs mercs $110,000.This boat whould get at least twice the fuel mpg over my 28 donzi. At the ocean city md. opa race this june 1ST they are having 5 Superboats in the race.Iam not in any rush and will wait? :crossfing:till donzi comes-up with a closed deck off-shore outboard performance model.

I watched the development of the Superboat 30 back in '99 and '00 and it's a slick package.

From what I was able to gather it's a damn nice ride and with twin egg beaters it could be some serious fun with a lot less fuel consumption.

Yes, I agree..

Bill, if you go that route of one of the boats you listed with the exception of the concept the first trip thru Turkey point on an average day you will wish you had the big D back in the rough deep stuff ;) Jamie

The new mercury outboards 250 pro xs and the 300 pro xs get 5-6 mpg on a 24 checkmate.A 30 foot superboat is 1000 pounds lighter.(then my donzi)It would get 2-2.5 mpg vrs my 1 mpg.So I would get double but the added expense and payments would not make-up for it.If I go to a smaller boat say a 22 velocity with a single 250xs jack plate+hdy. steering there would be a lot of days my boat would have to sit on a trailer.:(
