I am not putting a ****pit cover back on my Minx... I'm ready to fill the holes where the snaps used to be. I'm also ready to do some repair to the nose of the boat where it's been dinged by the trailer. And, there are a bunch more places where I'll needs some filler... I'm putting a new pitot tube in, dumping an externally mounted transducer, filling some random screw holes here and there for accessories that I've pulled and won't be replaced

What is the best filler for these tasks? For the snaps and random holes I want something hard, but not so rock hard I can't sand it easily. For the bow I'm thinking rock hard...

I'm looking at a couple of different fillers. For the bow I'm leaning towards West System 404: http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=2034

For the snaps etc. I'm not sure... I found Interlux InterProtect Watertite Epoxy Filler: http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=4148&familyName=Interlux+InterProtect+Watertite+Epoxy+F iller

I like the 2 stage cure process so I can sand it easily. I also like that it's water tight so I can use it below the water line on the transducer and pitot mounts. Anyone use anything better, or have experience with these?

I use Minicraft polyester "A" putty. If it's a large hole, I'll mix in some milled fibers. This has no color, or it may be white. But it's essentially the same material you're working with....fiberglass.
This is really simple.....don't make it harder than it needs to be. Take a look at all the uses I've used it for on the TR.
